Ianis Hagi dropped back to Rangers B team but this time he’s joined by £6m first team star

IANIS HAGI returned to Rangers' B team to face Stenhousemuir tonight - and again he had a telling impact.
The Romania star, 26, was playing his football in the reserves throughout the summer upon returning from the Euros after being bombed out by Philippe Clement amid a contract stand off with the club.
Hagi returned to the first team fold at the beginning of this month after he and his representatives reached an agreement with Rangers to resolve the contract wrangle.
But his stint back in the senior side was rather short-lived as he was shown a red card just 36 minutes into his comeback against St Johnstone on October 6.
He had waited 414 days to make his return, with his last outing coming in a League Cup last against Morton 14 months ago.
His dismissal in the second half at Ibrox left him suspended for Sunday's shock defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and he won't be available for selection until they face St Mirren this weekend.
That's because he was left out of Clement's Europa League squad after he was frozen out, meaning he will also miss Thursday night's clash with FCSB.
The Belgian still has plans for Hagi though and revealed it was a "shame" that he couldn't be selected for the match at Rugby Park.
But given he isn't available for the Euro tie this week, he rejoined his team-mates in the B side for their SPFL Trust Trophy showdown with Stenhousemuir.
And he wasn't the only first team star being given minutes against the League One side.
£6million man Danilo was also named in David McCallum's starting XI for the quarter-final clash at Forthbank Stadium.
The Brazilian hasn't played for Rangers' first team since August, having had had surgery on a knee problem sustained last December.
The 25-year-old then had to go under the knife once again and has played just 23 times since joining the club in July 2023.
Speaking last week, Clement revealed the striker was closing in on his return to the pitch after recently returning to the training pitch.
And Rangers fans will see him on the grass for the first time this evening after being named in a strong line up for the B team.
Giving an update on Danilo, Clement said: "He is back with the squad and we will see how fit he is.
"We follow the advice of the medical staff to do the right things with him. We adapt and build him up in a nice way."
The Gers B side ran out 4-1 winners at Forthbank to advance to the quarter finals of the SPFL Trust Trophy.
Danilo scored the team's second goal on the night as he latched onto Paul Nsio's pass in the 41st minute.
Hagi though stole the show with the fourth goal of the night that came direct from a CORNER.
Ibrox boss Philippe Clement was watching the action in the stands, with fellow first team staff members Nils Koppen, Andries Ulderink and Alex Rae in attendance.
