Tottenham return to Premier League action on Sunday as they make their way across the capital to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Spurs go into the game in excellent form after recording seven wins from their last eight fixtures, with their latest victory coming on Thursday as they beat AZ Alkmaar 1-0 in the Europa League.

Four points behind Aston Villa in fourth, another three points is vital for Tottenham as they look to challenge towards the top of the Premier League table in the months ahead. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have not enjoyed the best of starts to the 2024/25 season and currently find themselves in the relegation zone.

The Eagles have yet to secure a win in their eight Premier League games this term and Oliver Glasner somehow needs to find a way to get back on track to ensure they don't fall any further adrift of the teams ahead of them. So who should be in Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham team to take on Palace? Our football.london writers have had their say below.

The main talking point heading into Sunday's game at Selhurst Park is going to be who takes Son Heung-min's place in the Tottenham XI. The South Korean appears unlikely to feature and that leaves Ange Postecoglou with a decision to make between Timo Werner, Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert or Richarlison on the left.

The head coach's latest comments would suggest that Moore doesn't start for the second time in four days, although I personally would unleash him from the off as he's the best option to replace Son right now. Werner is so low on confidence and many won't be making a case for him to start, Odobert has just returned to fitness and it would be a huge ask for him to play from the first minute and Richarlison may be better as an impact substitute.

The rest of the team pretty much picks itself, with the only real decision whether Pape Matar Sarr or James Maddison join Yves Bissouma and Dejan Kulusevski in the midfield three. Maddison was really impressive against AZ Alkmaar and he has probably moved ahead of the Senegal international to start.

Guest's team: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Moore.

In reality, I don't think the AZ Alkmaar game told us too much we didn't already know about the team. Spurs will be keen to heap more misery onto Crystal Palace following their poor start to the season, and so it's a full strength back-line of Guglielmo Vicario in goal, Pedro Porro at right-back, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven at centre-back and Destiny Udogie at left-back.

In midfield, I think James Maddison continues with Dejan Kulusevski coming back in for the more advanced roles. Rodrigo Bentancur wasn't bad against the Dutch side, but I think Yves Bissouma starts in the deeper role after his showing against West Ham last weekend.

Mikey Moore - the new Neymar, Maddison jokingly coined - put in a great showing against Alkmaar, and while Ange Postecoglou was keen to note that they would be careful with the teenager, he did also say he was ready to start a Premier League game.

It could be the ideal time with Son unlikely to return. But I still think we'll see Timo Werner from the beginning. He'll start alongside Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke.

Doyle's team: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski; Johnson, Solanke, Werner.
