Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has say on Rangers defeat in Aberdeen as his own side warms up for Dons by beating Dundee

BRENDAN RODGERS last night cleared Callum McGregor, Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn all fit to face Aberdeen this weekend.
Meanehile the Dons kept pace with his Hoops side at the top of the Premiership with a win over rivals Rangers - which Rodgers dubbed 'a really good result for them'.
Next the top two meet at Hampden and something has to give when Jimmy Thelin's unbeaten start goes on the line against Rodgers' domestic streak at Saturday’s crucial Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
But as Rodgers saw his side past Dundee 2-0 without his crocked trio he praised the high-flying Dons for the start to the season which takes them, and the leaders top by goal difference, NINE points clear of Philippe Clement's ailing Gers.
Dundee kept Celtic at bay for an hour while Aberdeen defeated the other side of the Old Firm 2-1 at Pittodrie and the Parkhead boss said: "The supporters now see the team in a different place.
“Maybe a year ago there would have been a bit of edginess.
“But we stayed calm and my players didn’t show any distractions.
“You can look ahead too easily, but for Celtic it’s all about performing in the next game.
“Listen, Aberdeen have had a fantastic start and that’s a really good result for them.
“But I’m sure you can accept that my focus is on Celtic and we too have made a really good start.
“It’s still so early. My first marker is always ten games and we have both made a good start.
“It sets it up nicely for the weekend, it will be a great occasion.
“We are in a good place and we’ve got big players coming back so I hope it can be a really good occasion.”
On his crocked three he added: “All three will be fine. I think Adam has got away with one. It was a poor challenge and maybe he’s had that bit of luck.
“All three trained [on Wednesday] and there has been no reaction so they will all come back into the fold for the weekend which is great news,”
Alistair Johnston leapt off the bench to fire the Champions ahead, before Arne Engels secured all three points with a well taken penalty.
It’s now just one win in nine for Dundee.
But Tony Docherty was full of praise for his players.
Docherty said: “I was really pleased, I thought it was a really strong performance.
“It’s a tough place to come against such strong opposition.
“I thought the boys deserved a clean sheet given the amount of effort they put in.
“I felt at 1-0 we were still in it and I felt the penalty was harsh, there was a foul on Sylla in the build up which wasn’t picked up.
“We felt hard done by.
“I was really pleased to see three academy graduates playing in the middle of the pitch in Finn Robertson, Josh Mulligan and Lyle Cameron.
“For a football club like Dundee, that's what it's all about.
“It's about developing young players and improving them.”
