Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been handed two fresh injury worries following his side's Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Tottenham. Goals from Timo Werner and Pape Matar Sarr put Spurs in control with City unable to pull level after Matheus Nunes' strike just before half time.
Savinho brilliantly set up the Portugal international for his goal, though he became the second City player to be hit by injury on the night. Following a challenge with Destiny Udogie, the winger later sat down on the pitch clutching his ankle with a stretchered required as he was captured in some significant discomfort.
Before the clash, Manuel Akanji pulled out of the starting XI because of a calf issue with Erling Haaland remaining on the bench. Speaking to Sky Sports, Guardiola offered his thoughts on the numerous injury issues and the decision to not bring Haaland on.

“It is what it is," he said. "It’s normal. So many years playing 11 months, the limit of the players is there… but 11 players will be in Bournemouth. In football some times we’re in a difficult situation because of the amount of players [injured] but as I said we’ll play with 11 players in the next games.

Savinho departed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a stretcher and in tears after appearing to suffer the problem when attempting a cross that was blocked by Destiny Udogie.
