Malmo boss Henrik Rydstrom breaks silence on Rangers boss links as he reveals ‘Jimmy Thelin is one of my inspirations’

SPECULATION is swirling around Philippe Clement's future at Ibrox.
But the Rangers boss insists his job is safe for now - despite falling nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen in the league on Wednesday.
That doesn't mean pressure isn't mounting on the Rangers gaffer though.
Large sections of the Ibrox support are now calling for an immediate change in the dugout following their latest results.
And several names have been been touted to replace the under-fire gaffer in the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat at Pittodrie this week.
One of the managers mentioned has come face-to-face with Clement in Europe this season.
But it was the Belgian who came out on top.
That man is Malmo boss Henrik Rydstrom, who has previously been hailed as 'Europe's most innovative coach'.
However, he looked like a manager out of ideas when he faced Rangers.
Both teams kicked off their Europa League campaign against each other in September and it was the Light Blues who won 2-0, despite concerns over the Govan club's chances in the lead up to the game.
It was perhaps Clement's side's best performance of the season but the same can't be said for the other man in the dugout.
And when quizzed on potentially replacing the Belgian at Ibrox if he does indeed get the boot, Rydstrom has joked that defeat could prevent him from getting the hot-seat.
Speaking to fotbollskanalen, he said: "I was asked the question (about replacing Philippe Clement) but it is nothing more than that.
"As I have said, we were bad against Rangers so it shouldn't come to anything!"
Rydstrom has been keeping a close eye on the Scottish Premiership this season.
But he hasn't been keeping tabs on Clement and Rangers.
Instead, he has been looking out for Aberdeen's results under Jimmy Thelin.
The Malmo gaffer is a big fan of the ex-Elfsborg boss and has even revealed his former rival is "one of his inspirations".
He continued: "It is incredible results that he has achieved, and gained a belief in that team.
"Now I haven't looked at those matches. I'm a statistics guy so I check those numbers, they look a bit like Elfsborg under Thelin. Low ball possession in many games and a damn transition game. Created a lot of scoring chances
"Then they turned against Celtic and beat Rangers, that's the most impressive thing. It's funny.
"Even though we don't play the same football anymore, he is one of my inspirations. It's nice that things are going well for him."
