Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo is set to cheer on Chelsea at Old Trafford as they face Manchester United in the Premier League this evening.

The 21-year-old hitmaker, known for chart-topping singles like Good 4 U, Vampire and Drivers License, first declared her allegiance to the Blues back in August 2023 when she attended her inaugural football match. It was a clash between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge that concluded in a 1-1 draw, with Luis Diaz's initial goal being equalised by Axel Disasi.

Post-match, Rodrigo had the chance to meet defender Ben Chilwell pitchside, who gifted her a shirt. Sharing her experience with her 38.2m Instagram followers, Rodrigo posted: "Hey, my name’s Olivia Rodrigo and today I am at the Bridge for my very first football game."

She added: "I had the best time and I’m so happy that I got to come." Chilwell later expressed his delight on social media upon learning that Rodrigo was now a Chelsea supporter.

The club's official account chimed in with: "New Chelsea fan unlocked: Olivia Rodrigo," and, "Olivia Rodrigo is a Blue!" The reason behind Rodrigo's choice to attend this particular match remains somewhat unclear though.

Her boyfriend Louis Partridge has been spending considerable time in Manchester recently, filming his Netflix series House of Guinness in Stockport. In July, the couple were seen shopping in Ancoats, suggesting their fondness for Manchester might be why they are in the city today.

Fans can look forward to Rodrigo's return to Manchester next year when her tour hits the Co-Op Live Arena.
