Dieter Hecking takes over as coach at struggling Bochum
Following the dismissal of Peter Zeidler after defeat on Matchday 7, Bochum have found their replacement in Dieter Hecking, who is no stranger to a Bundesliga dugout.
Hecking, 60, will be stepping back into the managerial hotseat, having last managed Nuremberg on a temporary basis in the 2022/23 season. It was there that Hecking undertook the role of sporting director from 2020 until earlier this year.
Hecking has already taken charge of 418 Bundesliga games in his career, which took place across five different clubs. His deal at Bochum is set to run through to the end of the season.
Watch: Bochum were badly beaten in Frankfurt on Saturday

The Ruhr club currently sit bottom of the table, having failed to win a game so far in 2024/25, losing eight and drawing one of their nine games whilst conceding 29 goals in the process.
The appointment of Hecking follows a heavy 7-2 defeat to high-flying Eintracht Frankfurt, and they will face last year’s champions Bayer Leverkusen next.
