Cameron Carter-Vickers meets Victor Wanyama

Celtic's 3-1 victory against RB Leipzig has gone down with Hoops fans as one of the best performances under the lights at Parkhead for many a year.

Brendan Rodgers' side are now firmly in the mix to reach the knockout rounds of the Champions League, with a brace from Nicolas Kuhn and a goal from Reo Hatate sealing their second win in four matches in Europe's premier competition. But the night was also extra special for star centre back Cameron Carter-Vickers who was reunited with Victor Wanyama, a former teammate from his Tottenham days who is also no stranger to fans at Parkhead.

As the teams walked down the tunnel for the half time break, the big centre back shared a warm embrace with ex Hoops midfield dynamo Wanyama. The former Kenya international - who won two league titles with Celtic in 2012 and 2013 and scored in that famous 2-1 win against Barcelona - appeared on the pitch during the interval to confirm the winner of the club's half-time Paradise windfall.

But before making his way onto the pitch, Wanyama shared a quick, firm hand-shake with Carter Vickers, who he spent four years with at Spurs.

The duo became teammates when Wanyama swapped Southampton for Spurs in a £11million switch in the summer of 2016, and went onto score seven times in 97 matches across the next four seasons.

USA star Carter-Vickers only made four first team outings in North London and had several loan stints away from the club in the English second tier during that time, before joining Celtic from Spurs on an initial loan deal in 2021 that was made permanent 12 months later. The defender has been plagued with injury problems in recent seasons but has returned to fitness to help Celtic record four wins on the spin in all competitions.
