Manchester United v PAOK LIVE: UEFA Europa League updates as Ruud van Nistelrooy tenure continues

Amad Diallo scored both goals as Manchester United picked up their first UEFA Europa League win of the season, beating PAOK 2-0 at Old Trafford.

The win continued a string of encouraging performances under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who embraced his two-goal hero as the youngster left the field as a substitute in the second half.

Amad opened the scoring shortly after the break with a back-post header that he directed into the far corner, and he made the game safe with an excellent second goal. It was Amad himself who won the ball back, pressing PAOK, and his curling shot from outside the box picked out the bottom corner, aided by a slight deflection.

Victory in Van Nistelrooy’s penultimate game in charge puts them on six points after four matches in the Europa League, lifting them up to 15th in the table.

“It was important to win,” the two-goal star told TNT Sports after the game.

“When I score I like to celebrate with the fans and make people enjoy, I was happy.”

Here’s the goal that sealed victory for Manchester United, scored by two-goal hero Amad Diallo.

The final whistle goes and Manchester United celebrate their first Europa League win of the season. Amad’s brace has earned them a deserved 2-0 win over PAOK, which puts them on six points from four matches, firmly in midtable.

Zirkzee, on as a late sub, starts an attack for United with a lovely cross-field pass. He very nearly finishes it off, but can’t quite reach a Rashford shot that almost turned into a cross as it skimmed past the far post.

Casemiro halts a PAOK attack and is booked for his trouble. He won’t mind too much, as it stops any momentum with United looking to shut this game down.
