The third international break of the season is upon us, and it could be good timing for Manchester United as they prepare for their first game under the stewardship of Ruben Amorim.

As well as giving the new head coach extra time to work with his new players, the break also gives members of the squad extra time to get over any injuries that they may be recovering from. United go into the break on a high, having come out as 3-0 winners over Leicester City in their last outing.

Amorim’s first game comes against another newly-promoted team in Ipswich. The match will also see the Reds reunited with former assistant manager Kieran McKenna, who is now in charge of the Tractor Boys.

The international break does however see members of the squad jet off around the globe to represent their nations. It’s from the international camps where there is sometimes some extra injury news given.

With that in mind, here is the latest news from the treatment room at Carrington as we start to look ahead to the game vs Ipswich.

Lisandro Martinez

Injury: Back

What has been said: Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has issued an update on the centre-back after he withdrew from international duty. "We didn't expect the case of Lisandro," he said.

"We saw that he had suffered a blow to his back, but apparently, he had no problem, just pain. When he arrived here, the pain increased a bit, he underwent tests and is not fit to be here."

Possible return date: vs Ipswich, November 24.

Kobbie Mainoo

Injury: Hamstring

What has been said: "Kobbie is also progressing in his injury, he's making the right steps, but it is not yet with the team, though. That needs a bit more time,” Ruud van Nistelrooy said before the international break.

Possible return date: vs Ipswich, November 24.

Harry Maguire

Injury: Foot

What has been said: "Harry is still inside working on his rehab."

Possible return date: vs Ipswich, November 24.

Tyrell Malacia

Injury: Knee

The full-back made his first appearance in 16 months this week as he featured in the EFL Trophy clash against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

What has been said: "Tyrell is the furthest [along], he's part of team training for a couple of weeks now, fly in team training, no restrictions," said Van Nistelrooy. "It's good for him to plan game minutes, maybe in the Under-21s, we have to see."

Possible return date: vs Ipswich, November 24.

Leny Yoro

Injury: Foot.

What has been said: “He’s been managed very well after his injury in pre-season. It was obviously going to be a long one. Big moment, first time back in team training. He’ll be back partially over the coming weeks, and we’ll look to get him on board as quick as possible.”

Possible return date: December.

Luke Shaw

Injury: Calf.

What has been said: “Luke [is] also doing pitch work like he did today. He’s progressing [and will] hopefully [be in] partial team training soon.”

Possible return date: December.
