ALFREDO MORELOS could be set for a shock reunion with a former Rangers manager.

That's after the ex-Ibrox boss was named as 'practically certain' to land a new role.

Former Gers striker Morelos, 28, is currently plying his trade in Colombia with Atletico Nacional.

He has returned to action in recent weeks amid major off-field controversy.

Morelos was arrested over an alleged drink-driving smash that left a motorcyclist with horror injuries.

Although Atletico Nacional took disciplinary action against the striker, he was brought back into the fold and is once again playing regularly.

Morelos, however, is only on loan at the club.

He's there until the end of this year from Brazilian club Santos.

Morelos joined Santos after leaving Rangers but endured a nightmare time of things in Brazil, with Santos ending up relegated for the first time in their history.

Morelos' long term future remains uncertain, but it appears unlikely Atletico Nacional will look to extend his spell at the club beyond the current loan deal.

That'll likely see Morelos return to Santos, where he currently has another year left to run on his contract.

And he could return to a VERY familiar new manager back in Sao Paulo.

Ex-Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha attacked by swarm of ANTS live on TV

Fabio Carille has led Santos to promotion back to Serie A but he WON'T be in charge next season back in the top flight.

And according to leading Brazilian journalist Fabio Sormani, Pedro Caixinha is very much in the frame to land the job.

He's out of work having been sacked by fellow Brazilian club Red Bull Bragantino last month.

It's the Portuguese boss' FIFTH dismissal since his time at Rangers ended in 2017.

His time at Bragantino had initially started well and he led the team to an unexpected title challenge last season.

However, the good times didn't last long and a poor run of form saw him axed.

Since his dismissal, he's been linked with several big jobs in Brazil.

And according to Bola VIP, Sormani has claimed Caixinha is 'practically certain' to be appointed Santos' new manager.

This would see him once again be Morelos' boss.

Caixinha was the Rangers manager who BROUGHT Morelos to the club back in the summer of 2017.

He moved to the Light Blues in a £1million deal from Finnish club HJK Helsinki.
