Vinicius Junior has sent a two-word message to Gabriel Magalhaes following Arsenal's dominant 5-1 victory over Sporting CP in the Champions League.

The centre-back headed in the Gunners' third goal of the night at the Estádio José Alvalade, following earlier strikes from Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli. Goncalo Inacio did get one back for the home side but a Bukayo Saka penalty and late Leandro Trossard header ensured Mikel Arteta's side came away from Portugal with all three points.

It was a dominant display from the Gunners and Gabriel in particular, who alongside William Saliba expertly cancelled out the threat of Sporting dangerman Viktor Gyokeres. After the match, Gabriel took to Instagram to celebrate the win.

Alongside a picture of himself and his teammates celebrating his first half goal, Gabriel wrote: "Amazing energy from the team and our supporters!! On to the next!! [love heart emoji] [fire emoji]."

A number of football stars from across the world commented on the post, including Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior. The 24-year-old, who plays with Gabriel in the Brazilian national team, commented "Ele pegaaaaaa, which translates to "He catches".

Vinicius and Gabriel clearly have a lot of admiration for each other, with the centre-back last month calling the Real Madrid superstar the "best in the world". Declan Rice commented a handshake emoji on Gabriel's Instagram post, Bukayo Saka commented a heart eyes emoji and Wolves star Joao Gomes commented "Máquina", which translates to 'machine'.

Gabriel limped off against Sporting late in the second half after picking up an injury, with Jakub Kiwior replacing the 26-year-old. Speaking after the match, Arteta said: "We don't know. We had to make the change because he was feeling some discomfort. I was about to make the change for Raz [Raheem Sterling], poor thing, I couldn't make the sub. We had to get him out."

Next up for Arsenal is a Premier League encounter against West Ham, with the Gunners travelling to London Stadium in the Saturday evening kick-off. With Liverpool and Man City playing each other on Sunday, a win could proper Arsenal above Pep Guardiola's side and into second.
