HIBS players have been vocal in their backing of under-fire manager David Gray.

But Warren O’Hora knows actions were always going to speak louder than words.

The Irish defender joked he had to get his heart checked by the club doctor after the dramatic 3-3 draw with Aberdeen, which saw three injury-time goals.

Many expected Hibs to fold after Nicky Devlin made it 2-1 or when Ester Sokler’s scissors kick put the Dons 3-2 up in the 92nd minute.

But the Easter Road players showed they’re up for a relegation fight as they clawed a point from a seemingly impossible position.

O’Hora said: “I’m settled now, but I had to get the doctor to check me at one stage!

“The emotions were just like a roller-coaster. Everybody felt the same, Hibs and Aberdeen, fans, players, staff.

“There have been question marks over the character of the team over the last few weeks.

“We are where we are in the league, but that happens. The league never lies.

“But we’re all behind the gaffer, 100 per cent, there’s no doubt about it. Nobody in the dressing room feels any different.

“I don’t think we’d allow it in any way, anyone who would feel like they’re breaking away from the group or not behind the staff.

“From the outside looking in it’s easy to make a judgement.

“But when you’re in there every day, your judgement and your opinions are your own.

“I’m working with these lads every day. I see the hard work. We’re all sticking together. We all want the best for this club. In the last couple of minutes against Aberdeen we showed that this club is still together.

“The gaffer and his staff have been amazing for us.

“We’re all working really, really hard to get up the table.

“We’re a proper team and that showed in the character to stand up against Aberdeen.

“We should have taken all three points with the performance we put in and the chances.

“But the character the boys showed to get back into the game in the dying minutes, it proved we’re all together in this group.

“The mood’s changing a bit and we feel we should have had three points against Aberdeen.

“But we’ve come away with a point against the second team in the league.”

O’Hora also insists his team-mates have total faith in keepers Jordan Smith and Josef Bursik.

Smith was brought in to replace on-loan Club Brugge keeper Bursik after his howler in the weekend defeat to Dundee.

But he flapped at a corner for Devlin’s goal and should have done better at Sokler’s effort.

O’Hora added: “We have full faith in both of the keepers.

“I know how much the keepers here want to play. All the players want to play. I can see how good they are in training.

“I thought Smudge was brilliant against Aberdeen and obviously Joe was unlucky to miss out.

“But look, that’s football. It’s the same everywhere, in every position on the pitch.”
