Ruben Amorim felt Manchester United improved in four areas during their win against Bodo/Glimt.

Alejandro Garnacho's 46-second opening goal and two strikes from Rasmus Hojlund secured a first victory under new head coach Amorim against the Norwegian side.

United recovered from 2-1 down in the first half to preserve their unbeaten record in Europe this season after five games, with three to play.

Ipswich Town held United to a 1-1 draw at Portman Road in Amorim's first match in charge on Sunday but the Portuguese was encouraged by the improvement on display at Old Trafford.

"I know this is a different team, a different competition," Amorim began, "but we improved with the ball, we controlled more the tempo with the ball, we pushed the team a little bit more higher, we created more chances.

"We should kill the game before the end of the game, we suffer two transitions, I think we need to improve on that because was like runs, physical thing, one against one, you have to improve on that. But I like some things the team did today.

"They (Bodo/Glimt) are very well [coached] team, they know each other very well, you can understand that. If you see the goals, was one touch. They have the time we don’t have working together.

"They have a lot of speed and power when the transitions you feel it in the game, they had a lot of power and was a tough game in that aspect. But we controlled very well the tempo of the ball. We kept the ball so long that we control and was able to manage that."
