Edoardo Bove awake and alert after collapse in Fiorentina-Inter Milan Serie A clash, club confirm

There was some very encouraging news released on Monday afternoon concerning Edoardo Bove, with Fiorentina revealing that the 22-year-old was awake and alert after being rushed to hospital from Sunday's Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Inter Milan at the Artemio Franchi Stadium. Fiorentina, Inter and parent club AS Roma have all posted their good wishes.

Edoardo Bove is awake and alert after collapsing in Fiorentina's Serie A clash against Inter Milan on Sunday, his club confirmed on Monday.
The match was abandoned when the 22-year-old - on loan from AS Roma - suddenly collapsed in the match against Inter at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
Bove was promptly treated on the pitch in the 16th minute after falling to the turf and subsequently taken to intensive care in hospital.
Fiorentina, Inter Milan and parent club AS Roma all posted goodwill messages for the midfielder as they reacted to the news.
This included the presidents of both Inter and Fiorentina, as well as Bove’s La Viola team-mate and former Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea.
Fiorentina have since confirmed in a statement that the player was extubated [had his breathing tubes removed] on Monday morning.
The statement read: "ACF Fiorentina has announced that Edoardo Bove, following an uneventful night, was awakened and extubated this morning. He is currently awake, alert.
"The doctors at Careggi University Hospital who are treating the player have confirmed that diagnostic tests are ongoing.
"Fiorentina would like to thank Careggi University Hospital and all of the doctors and staff for the wonderful humanity and professionalism they have shown.
"The club would also like to thank the wider Fiorentina family and the entire world of football who, during this difficult time, have shown great sympathy and care through their messages and support, which have been of great comfort to both to the club and Edoardo and his family.
"Fiorentina and the Commisso family thank Viola fans, the clubs, fans and the world of football and sport for the support shown towards Edoardo Bove and his loved ones."
Fiorentina are back in action on Wednesday night in a Coppa Italia clash against Empoli, before hosting Cagliari in Serie A this Sunday.
