Newcastle United will be among the clubs to benefit from the Premier League's new lucrative television deal in Southeast Asia.

Jasmine International (JAS) have obtained the sole rights to broadcast Premier League games and FA Cup fixtures in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos for the next six seasons after outbidding current holder TrueVisons. In a statement, the broadcaster confirmed the deal is worth $559.98m, which works out as around £442.6m.

Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, acting chief executive officer of JAS, said: "The Premier League has responded with the signed letter confirming JAS’s acquisition of Premier League and FA Cup broadcasting rights for all six seasons."

Such agreements help explain why the overall revenue of the Premier League is set to increase by 17%. Clubs were informed that total broadcast and commercial income will rise from £10.5bn in the current three-year cycle to £12.25bn between 2025 and 2028 during a shareholders' meeting last month.

Overseas deals will bring in a whopping £6.5bn, which represents nearly a quarter rise on the previous three-year cycle, and finishing at the top end of the table has never been more profitable. In fact, half the money from any increase in total overseas rights is distributed based on where a side ends up, which is another added incentive for Newcastle to climb the table in a PSR world.

Newcastle received £72.2m from international broadcasters when the Magpies finished in fourth place in 2023. For context, only Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United took home a bigger sum that season.
