AC Milan are inviting interested parties to make transfer offers for defender Fikayo Tomori next summer, with bids in the region of £30-40m expected to be considered. Aston Villa were linked with a move for England international Tomori, the Chelsea academy product, earlier this week and now reports have emerged in Italy that Milan are looking to accelerate the process by identifying replacements.

Tomori, 26, has been linked with Villa, Juventus, Newcastle and West Ham in recent times; having dropped out of the Milan starting XI in Serie A under manager Paulo Fonseca, questions have been raised about his long-term future at the San Siro.

The 26-year-old has continued to be a regular pick in the Champions League - he was at the heart of the defence for the entire game as they emerged 3-1 victors at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid earlier this month - but he's played just 11 league minutes, spanning two appearances, since the beginning of October.

Reports this week add that Tomori, the former Derby County loanee who played against Villa in the 2019 Championship play-off final, now has permission to leave Milan and explore his possibilities, which include a return to England with various Premier League clubs.

Villa currently have four senior centre half options available to Unai Emery; Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa, the latter who has been Tomori's England teammate in previous squads, are generally the first choice selections for the Lions boss, while Tyrone Mings' involvement has been intermittent since returning from injury. Diego Carlos was available for a transfer in the summer.
