The striker made his mark on a Gers side that worked their way to their first league title in a decade under Steven Gerrard.

And he helped his side to the Europa League Final back in 2022, also becoming the club's top European goalscorer, overtaking Ally McCoist.

But upon expiration of his contract, he opted for a new challenge and moved to Brazil to ply his trade for Santos.

But an injury ruled him out for two months of the season and he returned unable to help his side from falling to their first ever relegation from the top flight.

He was dropped from the squad as he struggled to find any sort of consistency.

Then he left to sign on loan for Atletico Nacional in his home country where he has bagged seven goals.

And one of them came in a cup final during the week as his side ran out 3-1 winners in the first of a two legged tie in the Cop Colombia.

Morelos has only ever scored one cup final goal before, in the 2-1 defeat to Celtic in the February 2023 League Cup final.

Nacional found themselves 1-0 down but levelled the game just before the break.

And they scored again right after half time to turn the tie around before Morelos made sure of things with a goal in the 72nd minute.

He made a great run inside the defender and received the ball just outside the box.

He carried the ball just inside the box before unleashing a powerful strike down to the goalkeeper's right hand side.

He wheeled away in celebration, pointing to the ground before being lifted up onto the shoulders of his team mates to celebrate in front of the fans.

And he even had the commentator SINGING a song after he scored the terrific goal.

The second leg takes place this weekend where the former Rangers man could pick up his first piece of silverware since leaving Glasgow.

The loan deal with Nacional runs until the end of the year when Morelos will return to Santos until September 2025.

But Nacional could look to make a permanent move for the hitman with his contract nearing its end.
