Chris Kamara announces Jeff Stelling reunion and shock new TV job after Sky Sports exit

Jeff Stelling and Chris Kamara both left Sky Sports within 12 months of each other after spending several years on Soccer Saturday covering the Premier League together.

Chris Kamara has announced that he and Jeff Stelling will be back working together once again on Boxing Day as part of Amazon Prime Video's festive Premier League coverage.

The much-loved broadcaster will update his long-time Sky Sports colleague on Nottingham Forest's game against Tottenham Hotspur throughout the afternoon as part of their Every Game, Every Goal show. Kamara left Sky in the summer of 2022 after 24 years with the broadcaster.


Stelling then departed 12 months later - ending three decades there. The pair were well-known for their dynamic on Soccer Saturday and will bring back their on-screen chemistry this Boxing Day.


"Best phone call ever this afternoon," Kamara shared excitedly on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. "Inviting me to do the Forest vs Spurs game on Boxing Day, reporting back to the Unbelievable Jeff Stelling in the studio."

"I thought I was done, so it's a big thank you to Amazon Prime Video Sport. I'm back!" he added, while expressing his gratitude for the opportunity.

Stelling responded to Kamara's post within minutes, adding: "And I'm looking forward to it as much as you, mate. There's a goal at the City Ground, but for who, Chris Kamara? ..... "

The veteran and much-loved broadcaster refers to the infamous moment over 14-years-ago when Stelling went to Kamara for an update on who had been sent off in the game he was covering, only for the reporter to have missed that red card. Kamara acknowledging that he thought his time reporting was over comes after the broadcaster was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder apraxia of speech (AOS) - which affects a person's ability to speak.

The Forest vs Tottenham match is one of eight fixtures on Boxing Day. Manchester City are due to take on Everton in the early kick-off (12.30pm), before neighbours Manchester United visit Wolves that evening (5.30pm).
