Chris Kamara set for shock TV comeback alongside Jeff Stelling after Sky Sports exit
Chris Kamara will return to TV - reporting alongside Jeff Stelling on Boxing Day as part of Amazon Prime Video's coverage of Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Beloved TV personality - and former footballer - Chris Kamara has announced his television return will happen on Boxing Day. The veteran broadcaster will report on Tottenham Hotspur's visit to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League to mark a welcome comeback.
Amazon Prime Video will broadcast the festive fixtures, and Kamara will appear on their 'Every Game, Every Goal' show. Jeff Stelling hosts the programme and Kamara will keep his long-time Sky Sports colleague informed about all the action from Forest vs Spurs at the City Ground.
He left Sky Sports after 24 years in the summer of 2022, while Stelling also departed a year later after over three decades with the broadcaster. They worked together on Soccer Saturday for several years - and will reprise their partnership from that show, once again, on Boxing Day afternoon.
"Best phone call ever this afternoon," Kamara posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. "Inviting me to do the Forest vs Spurs game on Boxing Day, reporting back to the Unbelievable Jeff Stelling in the studio."
"I thought I was done, so it's a big thank you to Amazon Prime Video Sport. I'm back!"
Stelling responded to Kamara minutes later: "And I'm looking forward to it as much as you mate. There's a goal at the City Ground, but for who, Chris Kamara? ..... "
The veteran and much-loved broadcaster refers to the infamous moment over 14-years-ago when Stelling went to Kamara for an update on who had been sent off in the game he was covering, only for the reporter to have missed that red card. Kamara acknowledging that he thought his time reporting was over comes after the broadcaster was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder apraxia of speech (AOS) - which affects a person's ability to speak.
The Forest vs Tottenham match is one of eight games scheduled for a jam-packed Boxing Day. Everton start things up at Manchester City (12.30pm), while Liverpool entertain Leicester City at 8pm.
