Shaun Wright-Phillips feels that ‘unbelievable’ Premier League star Bruno Guimaraes would be a perfect signing for Arsenal or Manchester City.
Former City winger Wright-Phillips, now working as a football pundit, is a huge fan of the Newcastle United midfielder, who ‘works his socks off’.
Guimaraes has shined at Newcastle under Eddie Howe since he moved to St James’ Park from French club Lyon in a £40m deal in January 2022.
With 32 international caps for Brazil, Wright-Phillips feels it could be time for Guimaraes to depart Newcastle for a team who can challenge for the Premier League title and believes he’d be well suited to Arsenal or City.
‘I think he’s an unbelievable player,’ Wright-Phillips told sportscasting.com about Guimaraes, 27, who is under contract at Newcastle until 2028.

‘He’s always up there in terms of duels, keeps great possession of the ball, works his socks off and he keeps that ball moving.
‘I think in terms of the way Arsenal and City play, he’s one of those guys that you want because he’s good at possession and keeping the ball within those midfield areas.
‘He doesn’t necessarily rush. So, for me, anyone who gets him, they’ll be delighted with what he can bring to the team.’
It is thought that Newcastle would demand a significant fee for Guimaraes, believed to be in the region of £60m to £80m, according to recent reports.

Guimaraes previously had a £100m release clause – but that expired in June – with Newcastle now able to dictate their own price for the player.
Guimaraes, captain of the Magpies, found the back of the net in Newcastle’s 4-0 Premier League win over Leicester City on Saturday.
Speaking after the match, the Brazilian told BBC Sport: ‘I am very happy to score again. I have been trying for a long, long time, but I wasn’t lucky.
‘But very happy for today and we need to keep going. We have a massive game on Wednesday [against Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals].’
