The eight teams who will compete in this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals have been decided after Wednesday's round of fixtures.
Reigning champions Barcelona underlined their tag as competition favourites with a statement 3-0 win over Manchester City, as they topped Group D.
Goals by Claudia Pina, Aitana Bonmati – who collected her second successive The Best FIFA Women's Player award on Tuesday – and Alexia Putellas meant the Spanish giants leapfrogged City in the table.
Hammarby's 2-1 win over St Polten was not enough for the Swedish side to advance as they finished third behind Man City.
Renee Slegers' fine run as Arsenal interim coach continued as The Gunners came from behind to beat Bayern Munich 3-2 and secure top spot in Group C.
Glodis Viggosdottir's own goal gave Arsenal the lead in what turned out to be a thriller, before Magdalena Eriksson's double turned the game on its head.
Alessia Russo levelled to set up a dramatic finale with Mariona Caldentey's 86th-minute spot-kick winning the game for the hosts.
In the other game in Group C, Valentina Bergamaschi, Sofia Cantore and Emma Kullberg were on target as third-placed Juventus overcame Valerenga 3-0 in what was effectively a dead rubber.
On Tuesday, Chelsea continued their perfect run in Europe with a 2-1 comeback win at Real Madrid.
Catarina Macario came off the bench to score twice from the penalty spot and cancel out Caroline Weir’s first-half effort, as Los Blancos had to settle for second spot in Group B.
Celtic’s fate had long been sealed before their 3-0 defeat at Twente, but two own goals by Lisa Rodgers and Natalie Ross following Kayleigh van Dooren’s opener meant the Scottish side finished their debut campaign without a point.
A 1-0 win over Wolfsburg ensured last year’s beaten finalists Lyon also rounded off the group stages with six victories as Danielle van de Donk’s late strike proved decisive.
Despite the loss, Wolfsburg still qualified for the knockout stages courtesy of a superior goal difference over Roma, who beat Galatasaray 3-0 thanks to goals by Alice Corelli, Rosanna Ventriglia and Elena Linari.
