Scottish Premiership club ‘launch six-figure bid’ for English non-league striker to kick off transfer window

ST MIRREN are starting the January transfer window in earnest with a move for a new striker - according to a report.
Stephen Robinson's side put Rangers to the sword on Boxing Day.
And now the Buddies boss is hoping to wrap up a deal for a prolific young striker when the trading period begins, the Daily Record has claimed.
Saints are seeking added striker options after Kevin van Veen's loan deal was terminated.
Irish frontman Owen Oseni has scored 12 goals in 24 games for Gateshead and could be on his way to Paisley, if Robinson gets his wish.
It's said he has made a £120,000 move for the 21-year-old who began his career at Waterford.
He later moved to Derby County but is now in the north-east with the National League side after a successful loan spell.
Gateshead are pushing for promotion to the Football league and currently sit fourth.
But their striker is in demand and St Mirren could face competition from his signature from Bradford and Mansfield Town.
The £120,000 fee would mirror the fee Robinson spent on Conor McMenamin from Glenafton - but could also include add-ons and trigger payments.
Tomas Stickroth is the Buddies' record transfer fee spent - back in 1990 when they shelled out £400,000 to Bayer Uerdingen for the defensive midfielder.
Meanwhile Saints' successful tactics against Rangers will be matched by Celtic according to Alan Hutton.
The pundit revealed what Stephen Robinson told him after the 2-1 win - decided by Caolan Boyd-Munce's injury-time winner.
He reckons Celtic will do the same and aim to exploit Gers defender Robin Propper when the Old Firm rivals meet at Ibrox on Thursday.
Speaking on the Scottish Football Social Club webshow, he said: "When we were talking to Stephen Robinson after the game, I actually asked him at full-time about this.
"I said 'I thought in the first half that defensively you were sound and your set up was brilliant, but it looked like you were playing just little dinked balls just in behind the left centre-half (Propper) and Olusanya was breaking down that side. Was that something you looked at to target?'
"And he said 'yes'.
"That's what they were trying to do."
