Carter-Vickers price tag, Kyogo at Man City endgame and Chukwuemeka push 'renewed' – Celtic transfer bulletin

The Hoops are set for a busy January window

Bayer Leverkusen have been warned it would take at least £20million to tempt Celtic to sell Cameron Carter-Vickers in January.

The key Hoops' defender has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga champions as they target a second successive German crown and reeling in Bayern Munich's four point lead at the top. Reports in Germany have suggested that adding a new centre-back is a key priority for Xabi Alonso with the USA international on the shopping lost.

But former Rangers defender Alan Hutton reckons it would take big money if the Scottish Premiership were to sell. He told the Scottish Football Social Club: 'You don't want to lose him. Not at this time, unless it's something ridiculous. He was the stand-in captain (against St Johnstone), so it shows you how big a character he is. But look, money talks at the end of the day. But Celtic are renowned for when a player gets to a certain level they move him on."

Pressed on a potential price tag, by host Darrell Currie, Michael Stewart added: "Realistically, Celtic are in such a good financial position that you start talking for their main assets £20-25million. Cameron Carter-Vickers is at a great age, he has developed into a fantastic defender and it would probably take the likes of Bayer Leverkusen or a big club on the continent to prise him away from Celtic."

In terms of potential outgoings, reports in Japan had suggested that Manchester City could renew they interest from the summer in Kyogo Furuhashi amid their stuttering Premier League title defence. Pep Guardiola was reportedly an admirer in the 29-year-old.

However, The Athletic note that the boss 'did not sanction a move" to replace Julian Alvarez as he did not want an additional player in the squad. It is claimed that the Celtic hero "does not appear to be a target for January."

Elsewhere, Carney Chukwuemeka has been touted with a loan move to Celtic Park - and Chelsea are reportedly pushing to show him the door at Stamford Bridge. He joined from Aston Villa for £18million in 2022 but has struggled to make his mark at the Blues.

The 21-year-old has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Enzo Maresca in the summer - and has yet to make a Premier League appearance so far this term. The Times report that Chelsea have "renewed attempts" to offload Chukwuemeka on loan next month as they look to fast-track an exit when the window opens.
