THE family resemblance is unmistakable, even if the playing style isn't.

Lennon Jnr is a mainstay of the Northern Ireland youth ranks, where he can play either in defence or midfield.

Coming through at the Partick Thistle academy, Gallagher moved to St Mirren and has now been on three loan spells.

First he went to Dumbarton, where he helped win the Sons of the Rock promotion to League One via the play-off final.

This season it was on to Annan Athletic, where he played early in the season but hasn't featured since November.

And now it's out to Bonnyrigg Rose, where former Hearts star Calum Elliot is the manager.

And it was straight into the startling line-up for Lennon Jnr today - even if he couldn't stop his new club going down 2-0 to Edinburgh City.

Young Lennon has also been credited with John McGinn's Aston Villa move, with former Villa boss Steve Bruce once telling TalkSPORT: "I remember Neil Lennon's son telling me the best player in Scotland was John McGinn.

"He was at Hibs at the time, Lenny, so I got straight on the phone to him and said we need to find out about McGinn.

"So we went to work on it."

Gallagher was playing for Dumbarton against East Fife in a League Two match when a man made a tirade in the direction of the 18-year-old rising star.

A source said: “The guy shouted something along the lines of ‘Send me your address so I can send bullets to your da’.

“Neil Lennon’s long-term partner was sitting nearby and heard this alleged remark.

“She was absolutely furious, saying, ‘That’s my partner and son you’re talking about’.

“She is then said to have confronted the man who subsequently apologised.

“However, she obviously wasn’t happy with that and the cops were called in.”
