AC Milan reportedly consider making a loan move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford during the January transfer window.

AC Milan are reportedly considering a loan move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The England international is currently out of favour under Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim and is free to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window, with a number of clubs linked with his services.

Rashford is believed to have rejected three lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League, with the 27-year-old said to be determined to continue his career in European football.

Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Napoli are among the European clubs to be linked with the Red Devils academy product, but it is understood that Man United have not received a European offer during the winter market.

According to the Daily Mail, Milan are the latest clubs to express an interest, with the Italian giants considering making an offer to loan the Red Devils academy product for the remainder of the season.

Milan 'considering loan move for Rashford'

The report claims that Man United would ideally like to sell Rashford this month for a fee in the region of £40m but are likely to have to accept a loan exit due to the size of the forward's wages.

Rashford collects in excess of £300,000 a week at Old Trafford, and there are very few clubs in European football that would be prepared to pay him anywhere near that amount.

The forward is Man United's joint-second highest goalscorer this season with seven goals, but he is currently being overlooked by Red Devils head coach Amorim due to his poor form in training and general demeanour around Carrington.

Rashford has not featured in the Premier League since December 7, and he expressed a desire to seek "a new challenge" during an interview with journalist Henry Winter.

MLS outfit 'emerge as shock contenders for Rashford'

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Seattle Sounders are in the running for Rashford, with the MLS outfit discussing what would be a sensational deal for the Englishman.

While Rashford is keen to remain Europe, Seattle allegedly believe that they would be able to tempt him with a switch to North America, and an 'internal conversation' is said to have taken place.

"There are some suggestions that MLS has an appetite for Rashford. The MLS deals sometimes are funded centrally with support for MLS by Apple streaming partner, as with Lionel Messi," Jacobs told mufcMPB.

"Rashford doesn't fall into that category but he might be able to get a package if there is MLS interest, provided there's central support. I'm told the club that has asked the question, though there's nothing particularly advanced at this point, is Seattle. They've had an internal conversation.

"The reason why it's Seattle is because they are a Club World Cup representative, which is an appeal to anyone they wish to sign, and in addition to that, they're likely to get a minimum of between €50m-€60m for entering the Club World Cup.

"So MLS can turn around to Club World Cup representatives Seattle and Inter Miami and tell them they can afford to pay for these stars. So budget may not be a problem."

Rashford has scored 138 goals and registered 63 assists in 426 appearances for Man United in all competitions, but he could have played his last game for the 20-time English champions.
