Wycombe boss makes Joe Low transfer admission as Swansea City face Preston and Plymouth battle
The Wycombe boss has been quizzed on Low's future with Swansea understood to be working on a move
Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield admits defender Joe Low is 'destined to go onto better things', as interest hots up in the Wales international.
Low has been in fine form for the Chairboys, and has made 68 appearances for the club since joining from Bristol City, where he previously worked with Swansea City boss Luke Williams, in the summer of 2023.
Swansea have already been working on a deal for the 22-year-old, with Williams confirming that contact had already been made between the two clubs.
Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle are now both believed to admirers of the defender, with reports elsewhere suggesting a price tag of £750,000 has been put on Low's head.
The Swans had already been keen on signing a centre-back before the start of the January window, but Nelson Abbey's return to Olympiakos and the uncertainty around Harry Darling's contract situation has heightened the need for Williams to strengthen his central defensive options.
Low has been identified as a key target in this window, and the club are understood to be positive about their chances of getting a move over the line.
Quizzed on the centre-back's future after his side's draw with Blackpool, Wycombe boss Bloomfield said: “He is a very good player, he’s our player and I’m pleased with him as he works very hard.

“We’ve had him for 18 months or so and we brought him in as a free transfer.
“At that point, it was decided that he wasn’t good enough for the Championship.
“We took him and we believe in him and we’ve nurtured him.
"He’s an incredible young man who is destined to go onto better things, and we’re proud of him."
Meanwhile, it's understood Swansea are not currently in the running for Low's Chairboys team-mate Richard Kone.
