Celtic announce PPV price slash for Dundee United as club react to fan pleas over St Mirren power outage

The price has been cut after Sunday's game was beset by technical issues after an issue in Glasgow's east end

Premiership champions Celtic have announced fans will receive Wednesday night's pay-per-view against Dundee United at half price.

Supporters were left gutted as Sunday's Premiership encounter with St Mirren was beset by issues with a power outage striking parts of Glasgow's east end. The stream cut out in the second half before returning with a lower quality and no commentary before it was fixed in the closing stages. Now Celtic are willing to make amends for an issue which was beyond their control after supporters were, literally, left in the dark.

A Celtic FC statement said: "We acknowledge that, unfortunately, the power outage resulted in a loss of pictures and audio for part of the second half’s live coverage. While the cause of the disruption was entirely outwith the control of the club, in light of these circumstances, Celtic will be reducing the previously advertised Pay-Per-View pricing by 50% for the forthcoming game against Dundee United at Celtic Park this Wednesday, January 8. We hope that this discount will enable supporters who can’t make it to Celtic Park to enjoy the full game at home at a reduced price of £5.99 as a token of appreciation for your support on Sunday.
