Alan Brazil has admitted Celtic are lacking PACE in the middle of the park as he posed a question over skipper Callum McGregor.

The Hoops daft-pundit was talking to Rangers hero and co-host Ally McCoist on talkSPORT about Brendan Rodgers' side with the latter describing the upcoming Champions League Battle of Britain with Aston Villa as a belter. But his colleague expressed his worry over the Villa Park battle before explaining his concern over speed in the middle of the park and the form of McGregor.

Brazil said: "It is worrying me. I don't know, just briefly. But Celtic just look like they lack a wee bit of pace for me at the moment. Especially in midfield. Do you know what I mean? You keep bringing up [Callum] McGregor - and you are right - he is not imposing himself. Maybe he has got a niggle or an injury". McCoist added: "I don't know. I think he is a great player. I've got to say he is a terrific player."

The conversation then turned to Rodgers' anger towards the Celtic support over Kieran Tierney and a return to Parkhead with McCoist adding: "I think the Celtic fans were singing about the return of Kieran Tierney and to be fair to Brendan he was defending Greg Taylor who has done away fine.

"It was not a major fallout or anything like that. It will be interesting to see if Tierney goes back there in January. I really, really feel for him, I think he is a terrific player and I am disappointed he's not got a lot more game time at Arsenal but as you say he's just been riddled with injuries."
