Swansea City have launched a fresh bid for Wycombe Wanderers centre-back Joe Low.

The Wales international has emerged as a top target for the Swans in this January transfer window, on the back of a hugely impressive season for the Chairboys in League One.

The Swans have already seen a bid knocked back for the 22-year-old, but remain upbeat on their chances of getting a deal done, although Wycombe are understandably reluctant to sanction a sale in this window.

Low has so far played every minute of his club's league campaign, and has been an integral part of their surprise push for promotion.

Several other sides have also taken an interest on the back of his sparkling form, including Plymouth Argyle, who have similarly seen a bid turned down.

However, Swansea appear to be leading the race for his signature.

Boss Luke Williams recently confirmed the club's interest in the centre-back, who has been capped twice by Wales.

"He is a player that I have worked with before," Williams said.

"I don't know exactly where we are in terms of bids being rejected - I need to catch up with the chairman. But he is certainly a player that we like."

Their pursuit will likely spark further questions around Harry Darling's future in south Wales, with talks over a new contract seemingly reaching an impasse.

However, the Swans are still keen on keeping Darling, regardless of whether their bid for Low is successful.

A new contract remains on the table for the defender, who's out of contract at the end of the season, but Williams has admitted that decision over his future may now wait until the summer.
