Jurrien Timber is still eyeing a clean sweep of trophies despite the odds stacking up against him and his Arsenal team-mates.

The Gunners will go straight into an FA Cup belter at home to Manchester United on Sunday, five days after going down two goals in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle.

There remains an outside chance of Champions League glory, but Liverpool are streaking clear in the title race.

“We want to win everything,” said Timber. “Every competition is really important. Of course it's not easy, it's not always going to happen, but that's why it's also important that we bounce back.

“So the focus is on the FA Cup now, and then on the Premier League again.”

The Red Devils were floundering under Ruben Amorim but an impressive score draw at Anfield last time out has made them something of an unknown quantity.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was terrorised at right-back during that game. And Timber is likely to start in the same position, against Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes.

But the Dutchman is not concerned about facing the conundrum that flummoxed his Liverpool counterpart.

“We played them already about a month ago so we know what we're getting,” he said. “We know they have a good squad with a lot of good players. So it's not going to be easy but we'll be ready.”

An FA Cup win is all Arteta physically has to show for his five years at the helm in north London.

That’s why, with their Carabao Cup campaign in peril, United’s visit to the Emirates will take on added importance.

The contest could bring Timber face-to-face with international team-mates Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Tyrell Malacia.

But there have been no niceties leading up to their reunion, and Timber insists there won’t be until the scores are settled.

He said: “I'll speak to them after the game, when everything is done. But it's always fun to see those guys. I'm really looking forward to that game and bouncing back. It's another cup game, so we have to win.

“We definitely have to learn from what happened [against Newcastle]. It was already, but United is always a big game. Another cup game. United at home. We want to win and give the fans something to celebrate, so we're going to give it our all.”
