Callum McGregor hails Celtic’s relentless nature – despite 15 point lead over Rangers

CALLUM McGREGOR has hailed the relentlessness of Celtic — despite their huge lead in the Premiership.
Brendan Rodgers’ champions are 15 points clear of Rangers.
But Hoops skipper McGregor reckons Saturday’s 4-1 win over Ross County in freezing Dingwall shows they are still desperate to improve.
It was 1-1 after 81 minutes but three late strikes blew Don Cowie’s men away.
McGregor beamed: “We got the goal to go ahead and then probably the last five minutes perfectly encapsulates what we are.
“We are relentless right to the end and we scored goals in the last couple of minutes. So it’s really pleasing again.

“It’s another one we’ve just got to tick off. It was challenging conditions, but we were really good value for the win.
“When it went 1-1 we probably didn’t deserve the goal against us, but that can happen.
“The reaction was superb. The boys flipped the tempo. We flipped the switch a wee bit and started to speed up the game again.”
Captain McGregor had demanded a positive response after the dire 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox and reckons he’s got it — much to the delight of boss Rodgers.

The midfielder said: “The reaction has been superb — three games, a lot of goals and the team is playing well.
“There’s been nice consistency and fluidity in the team again.
“We spoke about it and obviously it was a sore one for us, but we had to dust ourselves down. We had a game really quickly after that.
“The boys have spoken about the demands we want to put on each other and the last three games have been excellent, so it’s been a really good response from everyone.
"Now we have to keep doing that every time we play, every time we train.
“The boys have been fantastic. We’re being driven by a lot of good players, so we know what the level is.
“We dropped below that for the Rangers game, so it’s up to us to show that reaction and keep winning football matches.
“Probably the Rangers game was a good one, just to refocus the group and realise that when you lose a game it hurts you.
“It doesn’t matter how far ahead you are or how well you’ve done previously, when you lose a game of football, it hurts.
“And that’s what’s good about this group. They understand that and they know what the expectation level is here.
“We want to win every single game, try and give the maximum level that we can and then just see where we get to at the end of the season.”
Meanwhile, Luis Palma is set to complete a £2.5million loan-to-buy move to Rayo Vallecano.
