Dortmund have also been strongly linked with a move for defender Renato Veiga just six months after he joined the club.

According to Ben Jacobs, Dortmund are looking to sign Chukwuemeka on loan, with the Blues open to a temporary exit.

Strasbourg are also interested in the 21-year-old if another of their Chelsea loanees returns to Stamford Bridge.

Andrey Santos, Djordje Petrovic and Caleb Wiley are all currently on loan at the French side, who are also owned by Todd Boehly's BlueCo consortium.

Meanwhile, Chelsea value Chukwuemeka at £40million, with three-and-a-half years still remaining on his contract.

The former Aston Villa man has made just five appearances this season in the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup.

Chukwuemeka is yet to be named in a Premier League matchday squad under Enzo Maresca, though.

As for Veiga, Dortmund are also eyeing an initial loan deal for the Portugal international.

Chelsea would prefer a permanent exit for the 21-year-old but are open to a loan with an obligation to buy instead.

Wolves had a bid rejected by the Blues for the full-back last week.

Veiga only signed for the club from Basel in the summer, penning a seven-year deal in West London.

He has since made 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and providing an assist.

However, the defender has started just one of his seven Premier League appearances so far this term.
