Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilil are allegedly readying an offer for one of Liverpool's attackers over the coming weeks.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reportedly remains as a target for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

The Egypt international has recently entered the final six months of his contract, allowing him to hold discussions with foreign clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement.

Although Salah has suggested on more than one occasion that the 2024-25 campaign will be his last at Anfield, those comments were more a dig at a lack of progress behind the scenes.

Nevertheless, Liverpool risk losing their star man on a free transfer if they are unable to agree fresh terms over a new deal in the short term.

According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool may need to act sooner rather than later with Al-Hilal back on the scene.

Al-Hilal persistent with Salah interest

Al-Hilal are one of the PIF-owned clubs that possess the financial firepower and reputation to attract Salah to the Saudi Pro League.

In this instance, Al-Hilal are searching for a replacement for Neymar with the Brazil international in line to depart the club at the end of the season.

Salah would arguably represent the ideal alternative to Neymar in the Al-Hilal attack, while Turki Alalshikh - an influential figure in Saudi Arabia - seemingly acknowledged the interest in Salah on social media by posting a mocked-up image of him in an Al-Hilal shirt.

The report suggests that a lucrative proposal will soon be presented to Salah in the hope of tempting him to end his legendary stint on Merseyside.

With Liverpool competing for four trophies, club officials will hope that the interest will not act as a distraction, even if the 32-year-old is said to be of the stance that he wishes to remain at the Premier League leaders.

Salah an alternative to Nunez?

Liverpool teammate Darwin Nunez has also been linked with a switch to Al-Hilal, the suggestion being that they would be prepared to pay in the region of £65m.

As it stands, there is no prospect of Liverpool accepting any offer for the Uruguay international, but there will naturally be lingering concerns regarding Salah.

Even though Salah has failed to score in his last two matches, 20 goals and 17 assists have been contributed in the Premier League and Champions League this season.
