Micah Richards was the recipient of a hilarious gift from Stade Brestois - or Brest for short - during CBS Sports Golazo's Champions League show on Wednesday night.

The pundit was handed a shirt that read 'Brest Lover' on the back, much to the amusement of the rest of the panel - Thierry Henry, Kate Scott and Jamie Carragher.

Henry's gift was void of any innuendo, simply reading his last name with his iconic No 14 on the back, while Carragher was entirely snubbed from any pleasantries by Brest.

The competition debutants had to settle for a 2-0 defeat in their penultimate group stage game on Wednesday, but have already secured qualification to the Round of 16 playoff phase.

However, the focus of the evening for the pundits was the club's hilarious show of appreciation towards them, which included a written letter, addressed to the panel.

It read: 'Dear friends of CBS, many thanks for your close attention to Brest's performances since the start of the Champions League.

'We all enjoy watching your many laughs on the studio. So we've made a special shirt for Micah. We couldn't resist giving a Stade Brestois shirt to our own legend Thierry Henry, to whom we send our warmest greetings.'

Carragher chimed in and asked: 'Nothing for me Kate, no?'

'Listen, I'm just reading out the card, it is what it is,' laughed Scott, while handing Richards his shirt.

The former Man City defender was appropriately amused by the gesture, laughing loudly as he exclaimed: 'Brest Lover!'

Henry looked on shocked and said 'I got Henry,' while Carragher mustered up a muted grin and added: 'I've never been able to get my hands on Brest.'

He went on to say, 'I can't believe they left me out with the jersey. I produced the best one-liner when we did that.'

The Liverpool legend was referring to an incident in November, when Richards was subjected to some very tongue-in-cheek, double-entendre-riddled ribbing from his co-pundits.

Richards was jokingly being punished for his comments on a previous broadcast earlier in the season about the Ligue 1 side.

'It's a big one,' Thierry Henry said, looking ahead to Brest's next fixture in the competition at the time, against Bayer Leverkusen.

Only for Richards to comment: 'It's a bit lopsided I think.' That remark sent several members of the production crew into hysterics, while host Kate Scott covered her face to conceal her laughter.

In response to his actions, though, CBS's next programme saw Scott jokingly claiming that the production team had requested Richards remain silent while the punditry team discussed Brest's exploits in the Champions League.

'We are going to do a segment about Brest, but unfortunately we do feel that you have consistently proven you can't stay professional in these segments, so production would like to ask if you feel comfortable remaining silent?' Scott asked Richards.

The former England defender insists that he 'can do this', but host Scott sarcastically repeated 'we think it's for the best', before Richards agreed to be silent.

But the panel then embarked on a segment filled with hilarious innuendos and double entendres, deliberately designed to make Richards laugh and test his self control.

'After four games, who here likes Brest?' Scott asked, with Henry and Jamie Carragher both smirking as they raise their hands.

'I like the shape of them,' joked Carragher with Richards almost physically in pain as he withheld his laughter. 'If you look at the set up under the manager what he's got... he's gone for a front two tonight?'

'Yeah, two big um... a pair up front that are going to try to...' adds Henry.

Scott then continued: 'And how much do you like watching them - would you pay to watch them?'

Carragher then responds: 'I have done!' to leave Richards rocking back and forth in his chair and slamming the desk as he tried to compose himself.

But Henry continued mercilessly, saying: 'There is basically one thing that you can say. You don't have to be big; you can be small and compete.'

Scott continues: 'Do you think Brest could get exposed tonight (against Barcelona in the Champions League)?'

And Carragher finally offered up the straw that broke the camel's back, answering: 'I hope so!'

It proved to be too much for Richards, who finally burst and asked: 'What is this! What is this nonsense! HR! Woooooow! That was hard!'

Scott wasn't done, though: 'What do you reckon, Micah - could Barcelona come a bit quickly for Brest tonight?' to which Richards pulled a shocked face and refused to answer.

Carragher joked that it 'might have crossed the line' while Richards refused to play ball because he claimed 'you're trying to get me sacked' and pleaded the fifth, before the discussion turned to a serious inspection of the French side.
