Manchester City have been accused by Real Valladolid of 'tapping up' their teenage defender Juma Bah.

The Spanish club claim that the 18-year-old and his agent informed them on Tuesday that he would be unilaterally terminating his contract.

They further allege that the Sierra Leonean player failed to show up for training on Wednesday morning.

Valladolid are pointing fingers at City, stating they are "behind this decision" and "advised the player to take this route".

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) reportedly informed Valladolid on Wednesday that the funds required to activate Bah’s contract termination clause had been paid.

In a statement, the Spanish top-flight club expressed their feeling of being placed in a "defenceless position" by City and stated they "reserve the right to resort to the appropriate legal and sporting jurisdictions to exercise (our) rights and defend (our) interests".

They added: "The player’s intention, supposedly supported and guided by Manchester City and his agent, has caused great disappointment and indignation within Real Valladolid, who welcomed Juma Bah with open arms and gave him the opportunity of a lifetime."

Manchester City have declined to comment on the matter.

Bah initially moved to Valladolid from AIK Freetong in his home country last summer.

City have already bolstered their defensive ranks already this month, seeing off competition from Premier League rivals to secure the signatures of Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens and Palmeiras prospect Vitor Reis.
