Neymar's time in Saudi Arabia has come to an end after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Al-Hilal. The 32-year-old made just seven appearances for the Saudi Pro League side after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023. It has been reported that he will return to Brazilian side Santos where he started his career before his move to Barcelona in 2012.

Neymar’s contract at Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal has been terminated by mutual consent, amid reports of a return to former club Santos.
The 32-year-old joined Al-Hilal on a two-year deal from Paris Saint-Germain for 90m euros (£77.6m) in August 2023.
But his time in Saudi Arabia was blighted by injuries and he made only seven appearances for the club.
It has been reported that he is set to return to Brazilian side Santos, the club where he started his career before joining Barcelona in 2013.
A statement from Al-Hilal said: "Al Hilal Club Company and Neymar Jr have agreed to terminate their contractual relationship by mutual consent.
"The club expresses its thanks and appreciation to Neymar for what he has provided throughout his career at Al-Hilal, and wish the player success in his career."
Neymar didn't make his first appearance for Al-Hilal until October 2024 after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee soon after signing from PSG.
A hamstring injury hampered his chances of playing further and he leaves having scored one goal in seven appearances.
It has been reported that Neymar has given up $71m (£57m) in unpaid wages with Al-Hilal to end his contract early.
Neymar is Brazil’s all-time leading scorer with 79 goals.
He came through the youth system at Santos and scored 136 goals in 225 games before his move to Barcelona.
Santos are back in Brazil’s top-flight after being promoted in November.
