Mohamed Diomande WINS Rangers red card appeal as Philippe Clement vow is vindicated after Dundee Utd flashpoint

The 23-year-old was sent off by Nick Walsh which left Light Blues boss Philippe Clement fuming

Rangers players react with astonishment at Mohamed Diomande's red card by Nick Walsh

Mohamed Diomande has WON his Rangers red card appeal and will be clear to face Ross County this weekend.

The Light Blues took their case to a fast track tribunal over wrongful dismissal after the Ivorian midfielder was sent packing by referee Nick Walsh in the closing stages of Sunday's 3-1 Scottish Premiership win over Dundee United at Tannadice. The man in the middle was sent by VAR to the monitor to review his decision to dismiss Diomande after the midfielder raised his hand to United’s Kevin Holt, although the contact was negligible if not non-existent.

Gers boss Philippe Clement said immediately after the game that they would be appealing the decision - and vowed they would win it. And Clement was right as they were successful in their bid to get the red card overturned with the dismissal rescinded with immediate effect. The 23-year-old will as a result be available for Sunday's clash with County.
