Goalkeeper Andre Onana has said he and his Manchester United teammates will "give everything to win the Europa League" ahead of Thursday night's final league phase outing against FCSB in Romania.

United will make the trip to Bucharest knowing that a win will guarantee them a place in the last-16 of the competition. The top eight sides will automatically qualify for the first knockout stage and United sit fourth in the table heading into the final matchday.

The Reds recorded a fourth successive Europa League win last time out, beating Rangers 2-1 in dramatic fashion at Old Trafford, tightening their grip on a top eight spot. They are unbeaten in the competition so far this season, winning four and drawing three of their first seven games.

With both a trophy and Champions League qualification for next season on offer, Onana is only too aware of the competition's importance.

The goalkeeper, as quoted by United's club website, said: "The most important thing for us is to win. As Manchester United players, we know how important that competition is.

"For me, we have to win the Europa League. For the guys, they all know it's a big opportunity for us to go directly into the Champions League, so we will give everything to win the Europa League.

"If we fail, it's not good because it's something we definitely have to win and we will give everything to win. It will not be easy because some opponents are very good, and that's why we've drawn some games against very good opponents in the past.

"But the mentality and the standard is always high. So any competition we will step in to play, we have to win, and the Europa League is one of them, so we'll go there with the winning mentality, to play the last game in Bilbao."
