Tyrell Malacia on Celtic transfer 'watchlist' as Man Utd man lined up for Kieran Tierney January alternative

The Dutchman is said to be on a list of targets if the Scottish champions fail to land Tierney from Arsenal this month

Tyrell Malacia of Manchester United

Celtic are reportedly looking at Manchester United full back Tyrell Malacia as an alternative if they fail to bring Kieran Tierney back to Parkhead this month.

The Scottish Premiership champions cut short Alex Valle's loan spell from Barcelona and are now looking for a left back. Tierney will rejoin his boyhood heroes but it's unclear if Celtic will get him during this transfer window - or if they will have to wait until the summer.

Greg Taylor is the only recognised left back available to Brendan Rodgers. And the Daily Mail say Malacia is being considered as a potential backup with Real Betis also showing an interest in the Dutchman who only returned from serious knee injury in November following an 18-month absence. Signed from Feyenoord for around £13million four years ago, he featured against Rangers in the Europa League clash at Old Trafford last week.
