Why Amad and Alejandro Garnacho don't start for Manchester United vs FCSB

Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has had to rotate his team for Thursday night's Europa League clash with FCSB in Romania.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed Alejandro Garnacho has been suffering from illness in the build-up to tonight's game amid his absence from the starting line-up.

Amorim has made five changes following Sunday's 1-0 win over Fulham, the bulk of which have come in midfield and attack.

Garnacho and Amad have dropped out of the starting XI, with Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund playing in the front three. Fernandes started in a deeper midfield role at Craven Cottage.

Outlining why he has made five changes to his starting XI this evening, Amorim told TNT Sports: "It is always a challenge, but when you are in Manchester United you have to have all the players prepared to cope with the demands of the game.

"Garnacho was sick during the week, Amad was on the limit. He is playing every minute. We have to try to keep the players fit. The other ones are prepared to win the game."

United are set to start the game with four natural midfielders on the pitch, with Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer, Eriksen and Fernandes all in the starting XI. Amorim added on his selection: "It's everything, not just illness, because Garnacho is here and ready to play. But we need to try to be careful with everything.

"We want more possession with the team and they have the quality to have that possession. We have to be brave inside the final third because they are midfielders, not strikers, so we have to look for the goal. They are prepared to win the game."
