Welcome to Chronicle Live's rolling transfer coverage as we reach the business end of the winter window. It certainly looked like Newcastle United were a closed shop going into the final 36 hours but Saturday evening brought a pretty significant development.

Lloyd Kelly now appears to be close to departing, with Juventus keen to sign the centre-back. After just 300 minutes of Premier League football across 10 appearances for Newcastle, the defender will be waving goodbye on Tyneside.

But what does that mean for incoming business? Eddie Howe has insisted there is no scope for any late arrivals but this deal may change things.

Stick with us right here as we bring you all the latest news, gossip, analysis and more.

Tel makes future decision

Mathys Tel has reportedly opted to move to Manchester United - turning down interest from Arsenal, Spurs and Aston Villa, according to reports. The 19-year-old Bayern Munich striker could seal a loan deal tomorrow.

He must not have seen their 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace then . . .

Early goal at Arsenal

It's already Arsenal 1-0 Man City after just two minutes. Martin Odegaard scoring after a mistake from Akanji.

Arsenal team news hint

Arsenal welcome back David Raya to their starting line-up against Manchester City today, meaning the goalkeeper will be fit to face Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta has seen his injury problems ease ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, with only Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Gabriel Jesus notable absentees.

Final scores

More misery for Ruben Amorim at Manchester United today, with Crystal Palace 2-0 winners at Old Trafford thanks to a second-half double from Jean-Philippe Mateta. Man United also saw Lisandro Martinez stretchered off.

Meanwhile, Spurs were 2-0 winners at Brentford to ease their recent fears, an own goal and a Pape Matar Sarr effort giving Ange Postecoglou's men the win.

Kelly transfer verdict

Signed on a free, made 14 appearances and sold for £20m. That’s a shrewd piece of business by Newcastle United for their fourth-choice centre-back. It’s the right valuation for Lloyd Kelly, despite some on here being unhappy they hadn’t accepted £6m for him earlier in the window.

Lloyd Kelly deal agreed

Newcastle United have struck a deal for Lloyd Kelly. The 25-year-old is heading for his medical today after a price of £20million was agreed between the Magpies and Juventus.

The former AFC Bournemouth man will serve a loan deal with the Serie A side with Juventus committed to make the deal a permanent move in the summer.

Kelly came on as substitute in the 2-1 defeat against Fulham in what proved to be his last outing for the club. His move from Bournemouth resulted in chances in the first team being few and far between.

Mathys Tel transfer battle

Arsenal and Manchester United will fight it out over a loan deal for Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel. The Mirror report both Premier League clubs are keen to land the 19-year-old, who turned down a £50m move to Spurs last week.

A permanent deal could be on the cards, although a loan deal may be easier to get over the line.

Rashford wages breakdown

Marcus Rashford's loan move to Aston Villa appears to be all-but complete after his medical this morning. He will move to Villa Park from Manchester United, with Unai Emery's side paying a minimum of 75 per cent of his wages - and potentially 90 per cent depending on performance-related bonuses.

Rashford is said to be on £325,000 per week, which will equate to at least £244,000 a week for Villa!

NUFC transfer state of play

Here's where thing stands this Sunday lunchtime, with a deal for Lloyd Kelly close and interest in TWO Newcastle full-backs.

Man United confirm Dorgu signing

Manchester United have signed defender Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in a deal worth £29.2million. The Denmark international, 20, has signed a contract until June 2030.

“I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player; this is a very special day for my whole family. I cannot wait to work with Ruben Amorim; his vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting. There is a clear plan set out for my development, and I feel that Manchester United is the perfect place to fulfil my potential and complete my huge ambitions.”

Newcastle turn down approach for Matt Targett

Newcastle had an offer for Matt Targett this morning from Watford. But the approach to take the star on loan was knocked back.

Andrija Maksimovic race heating up

Liverpool are ready to make the first move in the race to sign Red Star Belgrade youngster Andrija Maksimovic. The 17-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs, reportedly including Newcastle, but Arne Slot is keen to get a deal done.

The Serbian's agent Zoran Stojadinovic said: “It’s no secret, there are some offers. Liverpool are among them, Aston Villa, Leipzig and Atletico Madrid so all the clubs from the top leagues have shown serious interest. And then we get to whether the price is €12million [£10m] or €20m [£16.7m], so they say ‘let’s see if it’s €20m by June’. If the price was €10m [£8.4m] and he could go, Maksimovic would have already been sold.”

Tottenham confirm defender deal

Spurs have confirmed they have signed Lens defender Kevin Danso on loan until the end of the season. The deal included an £21m obligation to buy in the summer.

The Swiss centre-back was a target for Juventus and Wolves, but Tottenham have sealed the deal. It could end their interest in Newcastle-linked Fikayo Tomori, with the former Chelsea and England defender potentially leaving AC Milan in the near future.

Evan Ferguson medical booked

Brighton striker Evan Ferguson will have a medical with West Ham today ahead of a loan move. The Ireland striker will link up with former Seagulls boss Graham Potter at the London Stadium.

Ferguson has struggled for minutes since breaking on to the scene two years ago, but will look to kick on at West Ham. He played for the final 17 minutes of yesterday's 7-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

United release Willock statement

Newcastle United have released a statement following racist abuse directed towards Joe Willock on social media. A United statement read:

"Newcastle United strongly condemns the appalling racist abuse received by Joe Willock on Instagram on Saturday evening.

"There is no room for racism anywhere. Joe has been given the club’s full support and we will continue to do all we can to ensure the welfare of our players, staff and supporters. The club has reported the abuse to Meta - the owners of Instagram, and urges all social media companies to do more to eradicate this behaviour from their platforms. The club has also reported the abuse to the police, and will support the strongest possible action against those responsible."

Cunha makes Wolves future decision

Matheus Cunha has commited his future to Wolves after signing a new deal the club. The Brazilian had been a transfer target for Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, and there was speculation that he could leave either in this window, or in the summer.

However, Cunha, who scored Wolves' second against Aston Villa last night, has now put pen to paper on a new deal.

Isak's message of support

United striker Alexander Isak has been quick to suport Joe Willock after he was on the receiving end of some racist abuse following a miss against Fulham yesterday.

Isak took to social media to post: "We win together, we lose together! Always with you brother Joe Willock. There's no room for racism."

Turkish giants want Kieran Trippier

Galatasaray are ready to test Newcastle's resolve on Kieran Trippier, according to reports this morning. The former England full-back has lost his place to Tino Livramento, and the captaincy to Bruno Guimaraes, with several sides keen on a move.

Eddie Howe will be very reluctant to lose the experienced defender, however, although would have Emil Krafth as cover for Livramento. With Lloyd Kelly on the verge of a move to Juventus, any other exits would be hugely surprising.

Where Lloyd Kelly deal stands

Newcastle are waiting to give final approval on payment terms before Lloyd Kelly heads out to Turin to complete his £15m transfer to Juventus. The fee is agreed but the final details are yet to be approved. The defender is set to fly out to Italy once United give the green light.
