Arne Slot has already set out Jayden Danns loan demand as Liverpool deadline day transfer nears
Jayden Danns could be allowed to leave Liverpool on loan today
Arne Slot has already hinted that he expects Jayden Danns to play regularly should he complete a deadline day move away from Liverpool in the next few hours. The ECHO understands that Championship side Sunderland are leading the race to sign the 19-year-old on loan.
Danns has made four appearances in all competitions for Liverpool’s first team so far this season. He scored his first goal for the club in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley last month.
He came on in the final 10 minutes for the 4-0 win over Ipswich in the Premier League but was left out of the squad for the weekend’s clash against Bournemouth. But now it looks like he could be set to depart Anfield on a temporary basis, and judging by Slot’s comments earlier in the month, the club will expect him to play regularly.
He said: “You take a lot of things into account if you want to loan out a player, and this could be one of them.
“But there are also other factors you take into account: is it good for a player to get some playing time, yes or no? Do we think we still need him?
“We do have already three options for the No. 9 position and it’s not like we expect Jota to now be out for a long period of time. It will be a struggle to have him on the pitch maybe on Saturday, but we’re hoping to see him on the pitch in the near future again. So we have three options.
“But Jayden did really well when he came in so we actually have four options. Then it’s up to us as a club to make the best possible decision for the near future, but also for the long-term future of this club.”
