‘They’ve got a chance’ – Michael Stewart predicts potential shock Celtic result against Bayern Munich

CELTIC did the business against Dundee tonight at Celtic Park.
The Hoops put six goals past their Premiership counterparts - but that's still one fewer than what the last German team they faced scored against them.
Celtic will face Bayern Munich in the first leg of the play-off round of the Champions League knockout stages a week today; the second leg takes place the following week though there is a doubt over whether the Hoops faithful will be able to travel for that one.
Precious few would have predicted Brendan Rodgers and his squad would qualify for the knockouts after Borussia Dortmund stuck seven past them on October 1.
The Bundesliga giants went ahead in the seventh minute but just moments later Daizen Maeda grabbed a shock equaliser.
If anything it just angered them and within another two minutes Karim Adeyemi scored the first of three goals on the night on the way to helping Dortmund to a 7-1 victory.

Fast forward to now though and Celts have put down a number of impressive markers in Europe since then.
The 0-0 draw in Atalanta showed their defensive capabilities and they were at their best in the 3-1 win over RB Leipzig.
A 1-0 win over BSC Young Boys showed their grit and composure in equal measure.
And with the team flying in the Premiership - now 13 points clear of rivals Rangers - pundit Michael Stewart thinks there is a possibility they can SHOCK Bayern and cause an upset in their upcoming fixture.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound after the thumping of Dundee, Stewart said: "You get the sense that with that big game on the horizon, there are a lot of Celtic players that are trying to stake a claim and say that they should be playing.
"And that is a wonderful thing for a manager to have.
"And that's what they need, they need that.
"If they have that, they've got a chance."
Fellow pundit and former pro Lee Miller added: "Healthy competition for places is really good and you can see it, nobody's nose is out of joint. Everybody is getting a wee sniff of game time here and there.
"It's then down to them to actually perform when they get on the pitch.
"And it's really difficult to do that, to keep everybody happy."
