Kyogo Furuhashi stayed up all night packing boxes after his final outing for Celtic.

The fans' favourite left the Hoops during the January transfer window in a £10million deal to Ligue 1 outfit Rennes in France. He had the ball in the back of the net three times in what proved his final outing at Parkhead against Young Boys in the Champions League - but VAR ruled out all of his strikes, much to the frustration of the player and fans on the night.

In an interview in his homeland, Kyogo has revealed the whirlwind events that followed that European triumph under the lights at Parkhead. It guaranteed Brendan Rodgers and his troops a play-off shot - with German giants Bayern Munich next in wait for the Scottish champions. But Kyogo won't be part of that after his departure.

He explained: "I left for France the day after we played in the Champions League against Young Boys. I stayed up the entire night just packing boxes. I packed six suitcases and as many cardboard boxes as I could find and separated what I needed from what I didn't.

"When I got to Rennes, I had about four training sessions before I played my first match. I have to express my gratitude to the manager for picking me and for my team-mates for trusting me in such a short period of time.".
