Ezri Konsa injury update as Unai Emery responds after latest Aston Villa blow
Ezri Konsa is the latest Aston Villa defender to suffer an injury after he came off against Tottenham
Unai Emery is hopeful Ezri Konsa hasn't suffered a big injury in Aston Villa's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Konsa pulled up with a muscle injury in the first half of Villa’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Spurs. After beating the ground in frustration before receiving treatment on the pitch, Konsa walked off.
Replaced by Lamare Bogarde, Konsa is now the latest defender to suffer an injury issue in Villa’s squad. Tyrone Mings picked up a knee problem in the 1-1 draw with West Ham last month, while Pau Torres isn’t expected back until the start of March.

"We weren’t thinking to be playing against Tottenham with Bogarde and Kamara," Emery admitted in his post-match press conference. "Both are more central midfielders than centre-backs.
"Hopefully we can recover quickly Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings. As well Axel Disasi for next week if everything goes well. For Konsa, hopefully it is not a big injury."
Diego Carlos was sold for £8.5m to Fenerbahce in the winter window and was replaced by Disasi in the early hours of Tuesday morning after Villa submitted a deal sheet.
The France international was cup-tied against Tottenham, but will be in line to make his debut against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
