Glazer family to snub Denis Law funeral as Man Utd owners risk fresh backlash
Denis Law's funeral takes place on Tuesday but Manchester United's majority owners will not be attending to mourn the passing of one of the club's greatest players
The Glazer family are not planning to attend the funeral of Manchester United legend Denis Law on Tuesday.
The funeral of Law, who died in January aged 84 following a long battle with dementia, will take place at Manchester Cathedral.
But, as first reported by the Daily Star, no one from the family that has a majority ownership of the Old Trafford will be there to pay their respects to one of their club's greatest figures.
It will be the second time the Glazers have failed to attend such a huge event having not been to the funeral of Sir Bobby Charlton in November 2023.

The Americans did not want to make unwanted headlines and stayed away to allow all the focus to be on Charlton.
The Glazers remain despised by United fans, as a result of their controversial ownership of the club since 2005. In December last year they sold 25 per cent of their stake to Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS but the club remains mired in a number of crises.
United have been in mourning since the passing of Law. Thousands are expected to line the streets of Manchester to bid farewell to the Scotland and United legend.
A 'Book of Condolence' will be made available at Old Trafford between 12pm and 2pm so Manchester United fans can leave personal messages and memories of the man dubbed 'The King'.
The hearse and funeral procession is expected to pass the stadium just after 1pm and it will pause outside the 'Holy Trinity' statue of Law, George Best and Charlton.
Sir Alex Ferguson will attend the funeral although it is understood that United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will not be present.
Law, who remains the only Scottish player to have won the Ballon d'Or, spent 11 years at Old Trafford and scored 237 goals in 404 appearances.
