Kelly Somers apologised to Alex Scott after a moment of confusion during the live FA Cup fifth round draw on BBC Monday evening.

Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Manchester City both secured home fixtures in the draw conducted by ex-Arsenal players Theo Walcott and Scott.

The Football Focus host emptied the balls into the container prior to the draw with Walcott picking the home teams and Scott picking the away sides.

As the draw neared its conclusion, Scott was tasked with drawing the final ball, labelled No. 6 for Ipswich. Upon reading the number, Somers interjected: "It should be Ipswich Town."

That sparked a moment panic for Scott who feared she had made a mistake with the final tie. The Lionesses legend appeared puzzled and then touched her chest, saying: "Oh, you scared me then. I was like, what? "

Both Walcott and Scott laughed off the incident once they realised everything was in order, and Somers reassured them: "Perfectly done - do not worry."

United meanwhile, were drawn in one of three guaranteed all-Premier League ties, taking on Fulham at Old Trafford.

In the other meetings of top-flight sides, Brighton will journey to Newcastle, while Wolves will make their way to Bournemouth. Nottingham Forest will face Ipswich, if they can beat Exeter in the round's final game on Tuesday night.

In other fixtures, there's a Lancashire derby on the cards between Preston and Burnley, and Aston Villa will play host to Cardiff. The victor of Monday night’s face-off between Doncaster and Crystal Palace will be welcoming Millwall.

United, last year’s FA Cup winners after defeating City in the final at Wembley, secured their spot in this season’s fifth round by overcoming a 1-0 deficit to beat Leicester 2-1 at Old Trafford on Friday night.

Despite their struggles on the pitch since the start of the season, Pep Guardiola’s City side are still the favourites to clinch the trophy this season.
