Arsenal's warm weather training camp in Dubai has been marred by a new injury scare, with star player Kai Havertz reportedly picking up a hamstring problem.

The blow to Havertz is the last thing Mikel Arteta's team needed during their Premier League break and raises concerns for his availability against Leicester City this weekend.

According to the Mail Online, the 25-year-old suffered the injury earlier in the week. With no detailed diagnosis yet released, his participation in the upcoming match remains uncertain.

Havertz has notched up an impressive 15 goals and five assists this season, already surpassing the 14 goals and seven assists he registered last term. Arteta has also relied on the German to lead the line for his side after the Gunners opted not to sign a new No. 9 in January.

Arsenal are also apprehensive about Gabriel Martinelli's condition following a knock against Newcastle. Arsenal manager Arteta confirmed the forward's hamstring trouble, saying: "Yes, he [Martinelli] felt something. I think it was his hamstring and he wasn't comfortable to continue so we'll have to do an MRI scan tomorrow to see the extent of the injury."

Injuries are piling up for the Gunners, with Gabriel Jesus ruled out after a severe knee injury and Bukayo Saka sidelined with an ongoing hamstring issue, making the situation even more challenging for Arsenal's title charge.

Arsenal are facing a defensive dilemma as they prepare to face Leicester City, with Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu still sidelined. The Gunners' backline have been without these key defenders for an extended period, and the situation with Tomiyasu is particularly worrying.

The Japanese star has been battling a persistent knee injury, and Arsenal's medical team is now contemplating surgery, which would mean a lengthy spell out of action. Arteta expressed his concerns last month, saying: "Tomi has done some stuff on the pitch, but now because it's been a long-term injury, we need to see how quickly he can progress and how he reacts."

As Arsenal gear up for their clash at the King Power Stadium, they have a chance to close in on league leaders Liverpool, depending on Everton's midweek performance against Arne Slot's men. Following the Leicester match, the Gunners will turn their attention to a crucial encounter with West Ham.
