Chelsea face Brighton on Friday evening in the Premier League as the two sides go head-to-head for the second time in the space of a week.
The Blues were dumped out of the FA Cup at the fourth round stage over the weekend despite taking the lead down at the Amex Stadium. It was a really disappointing and toothless display from the west Londoners and Enzo Maresca's task this week has been to get a reaction out of his players.
However, he will have to do so without striker Nicolas Jackson, who has been ruled out until after the international break at the end of March. It leaves Maresca extremely short of options in the centre-forward department - so, what does the head coach do now? Sam Truelove and Bobby Vincent discuss below...
Sam Truelove
Chelsea need a positive result at Amex Stadium on Friday night and three points would be enough to ensure they remain in the top four despite what happens elsewhere in the Premier League over the weekend.
I would start with Filip Jorgensen in goal as Robert Sanchez has simply made too many mistakes this season. Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo would be my centre-backs, with Marc Cucurella and Reece James either side of them.
With Romeo Lavia still injured, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez continue in midfield. Cole Palmer keeps his place in the roaming role ahead of the duo, with Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke on the wings.
Jackson is injured and how Maresca replaces the striker will be interesting. He mentioned a number of options in his pre-match press conference but Christopher Nkunku would be my pick, although only just. The 27-year-old needs a run of games and Jackson's absence could give him that.
Truelove's XI : Jorgensen; James, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Nkunku.
Bobby Vincent
Jorgensen will return in goal for the Blues after missing the defeat on Saturday evening. In front of him, it would be nice to see James back after he was rested. Trevoh Chalobah to start as the right-sided central defender, alongside Colwill, who was also handed a rest at the weekend. Cucurella completes the defence.
Fernandez started on the bench in the last match but he is set to return to the side in place of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. With Lavia still sidelined, it seems a no-brainer that it will be a Caicedo and Fernandez double pivot. What is picked ahead of them, though, is more up for debate.
Pedro Neto was poor at the Amex over the weekend and does not deserve to keep his place in the line-up. Madueke, while causing plenty of frustration among supporters, is actually one of the more in-form attacking players Maresca has at his disposal at the moment so I would bring him back into the side on the right wing.
Palmer and Sancho alongside Madueke to help Nkunku, who is the makeshift No.9 at the moment. Maresca said on Thursday morning that there are other possible solutions for Chelsea but the head coach did not go into too much detail about what they could be.
Vincent's XI: Jorgensen; James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Nkunku.
